Yes, I do realize that I’m a little crock pot obsessed these days. Here’s the thing: crock pot cookin’ is EASY and everything I make turns out somewhere between pretty delsih to amazingly delish. So why wouldn’t I become a crock pot goddess? Okay…maybe goddess is a little strong. But it sounded better than crock pot queen. Moving on.
Yesterday I was seriously craving some tacos. But the only thing I had in the house was frozen chicken and this Frontera pork carnitas sauce in my cupboard. So what’s a girl to do when she doesn’t want to leave the house all day? Combine the two, duh! And the result was some majorly tasty shredded chicken tacos that I will be making again. And again. And again.
What you’ll need:
2 chicken breasts, thawed
1 package Frontera carnitas slow cook sauce (in the aisle with the tortillas at the grocery store)
1/2 cup water
Tortillas + fixins (for us that meant cheese and sour cream. Less is more – the sauce is pretty full flavor)
1. Put chicken, sauce and water into crock pot.
2. Cook on low for 7-8 hours.
3. Using two forks, shred the chicken in the crock pot. It will absorb a lot more of the sauce when shredded than you think it will!
4. Serve.
5. ENJOY!

*side note* Frontera has no clue who I am. I just happened to have this sauce in my cupboard. Over and out.

These sound delicious. I’m always looking for great crock pot recipes. I love it when I find one that is not another boring stew type recipe. These tacos are on my “to make list” now. Thank you!

This looks delicious! I love that the ingredient list is short and sweet and that the meat does not have to be precooked.
